Eat Japanese Ramen in Hollywood! RAMEN DISCOVERIES | A Popup Seriesat JAPAN HOUSE

Starting from May 6th, the Japanese soul food, RAMEN’s popup event, “RAMEN DISCOVERIES | A Popup Series” will invite ramen fans to offer an opportunity to learn about the variety of authentic ramen from Japan.

With sweeping views from Hollywood to Downtown Los Angeles, the popups take place at the 5th floor of the JAPAN HOUSE restaurant on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the history and culture of ramen by stopping by at a ramen bowl exhibition “The Art of the Ramen Bowl” that JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles is also holding on the 2nd floor.

Reservations Now Available! Book Before Seats are Filled Up

A Popup Series will be serving seven different ramen from various cities in Japan, including Tokyo, Kumamoto, Fukushima, and Yokohama. Reservations can be booked online in advance via Tock, and walk-ins are welcome depending on space availability.

May 6-8, 13-15 | Tsujita Miso no Sho 
Miso Ramen (a sweet and savory Tokyo-style miso ramen) 

May 20-22, 27-29 | Keika 
Keika Ta-Ro Ra-men (a rich, pork Kumamoto-style ramen) 

June 3-5, 10-12 | Bannai Shokudo 
Kitakata Ramen (ramen with wide curly noodles and tender pork chashu) 

June 17-19, 24-26 | Mengyo 
Seafood Ramen (a new genre of ramen; the soup uses the essence of snappers fished in Uwajima, and the noodle is made of 100% Hokkaido wheat grounded by a millstone) 

July 1-3, 8-10 | Butayama 
Wild Pork Mountain Ramen (new genre of Jiro-inspired ramen with a strong broth and rich soy sauce) 

July 15-17 | Aburado 
No Soup Umami Fresh Oil Ramen (new genre of ramen; Tokyo abura soba, a soupless, dry noodle dish with egg yolk, pork, and green onion on top) 

July 22-24, 29-31 | Machida Shoten 
E.A.K. Ramen (Yokohama Ie-kei Ramen with thick noodles, pork, and soy sauce)

What’s Special About the Popups?
The Ramens from Japan

All the ramens that appear in the popups are served only at this event and only during this time. Different ramens are served every two weeks, so visitors can enjoy a full bowl one day and come back for other bowls another week with a new appetite.

RAMEN DISCOVERIES “MAY”「Tsujita Miso no Sho」「KEIKA」

“Tsujita Misonosho”  May 6th-8th & 13th-15th

A miso ramen specialty store, with three stores in Japan and some others in Los Angeles. Their ramen features a creamy and deep soup. It is known as the “Tokyo Style” miso ramen.

“Keika”  May 20th22nd & 27th29th

Kumamoto style Ramen, born in Kumamoto prefecture in 1955. The thick and chewy noodles, the chicken broth soup with ma-yu(garlic) oil, and “taro” pork cubes that melt in the mouth are a must-try.
