The LA Kimono Club will hold a “Kimono Contest” at its annual New Year’s event (January 1, 2024). Contestants are now being accepted!
🔸Any nationality, age, or gender is welcome.
🔸Anyone who wants to wear a traditional Japanese kimono and walk on stage in a kimono show is welcome!
🔸Contest entry fee: $20
🔸Judging: Walking on stage, posing, a brief self-promotional speech, and the way you wear your kimono.
🔸Prize money: $200 + great prizes
Deadline for application: December 20
(or as soon as the limit of 15 applicants is reached.)
There will be plenty of gifts for the winners, as well as for 2nd & 3rd place and all participants!
If you don’t own a kimono, we can introduce you to rental or used kimono for sale; please inquire by e-mail or phone.
If you are selected as a *prizewinner*, you will be asked to attend next year’s official club event as a “Kimono Ambassador, so please apply only if you can attend the official event.
