Keiro Kikyo Home Licensed for Its First Torrance Care Home

Keiro Kikyo Home has received its Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) license from the California Department of Social Services, Keiro announced. The license covers the organization’s first board and care home, located in Torrance, and marks a major step toward opening.

What Keiro Kikyo Home Will Offer

The home is designed as an intimate, supportive setting for residents who benefit from extra help with daily routines. Plans include both private and shared rooms, culturally responsive programming, and a focus on safety, engagement, and meaningful daily activity. For a Japanese American community that has long faced a shortage of care options attuned to language and cultural background, it fills a real gap.

The project grew out of years of research, planning, and conversations with the community about the rising need for supportive residential care. President and CEO Beverly Ito said the license brings the organization a step closer to welcoming its first residents, and thanked the community for its continued support and trust.

What Comes Next

The home is now moving from development into the final stages of preparation ahead of its grand opening. The Keiro Kikyo Home Board is also continuing to look at properties for additional board and care homes, with further announcements expected as the project reaches new milestones.
