Toshima City Tokiwaso Manga Museum
豊島区立トキワ荘マンガミュージアム

At the “Tokiwaso Manga Museum” near Ikebukuro, visitors can get a glimpse into the lodgings where famous Japanese manga artists like Astro Boy’s Tezuka Osamu, Doraemon’s Fujiko F. Fujio, and Osomatsu-kun’s Fujio Akatsuka spent their youth. Even the creaks in the stairs of the original buildings are accurately reproduced in the replica rooms. Visitors will feel as though they’ve stepped into the retro world of the 1950s. In addition to the manga artists’ rooms, there are special exhibitions of manga artists and works connected to Tokiwaso.
