Children’s Day
.
Originally, it is a day to celebrate a growth and good fortune of boys.
Outside their houses, families with boys fly large carp streamers called, koinobori.
Inside they display various kinds od warrior dolls and equipment and prepare some of the special foods.
In 1948, this day was designed a national holiday and renamed “Children’s Day.”
It is now a day for boys and girls to celebrate together.
