Disney fans in Japan have a new realm of fancy to explore as Tokyo DisneySea officially unveiled its highly-anticipated Fantasy Springs area on June 6th. The expansive new port-of-call transports guests into a storybook-inspired world split across four imaginatively themed districts.
Upon entering Fantasy Springs, visitors are immediately immersed in creative fantasy environments brought vividly to life through impressive architectural feats and thoughtful landscaping. The first area, Shrinking Bay, shrinks guests down to pint-sized proportions with over-scaled blades of grass, woodchips, and other greenery, crafting a world reminiscent of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”

Moving into the heart of Fantasy Springs is the crown jewel – the soaring Rapunzel’s Tower, directly inspired by the Disney animated film Tangled. The breathtaking icon dazzles with exquisite detailing and illuminates the area with a warm, radiant glow at night. Neighboring Belle’s Village immerses visitors in a quaint French countryside setting straight out of Beauty and the Beast, complete with outdoor dining and shopping.

Rounding out the new lands is The Boulangerie Village Bakery, with awning-lined shops selling fresh baked treats and snacks. Here, guests can also experience the new indoor attraction Fantasmic!, which brings Disney magic to life through immersive projection effects, live performers, and pyrotechnics.
With captivating environments, all-new attractions, enhanced dining options, and meticulous theming, Fantasy Springs elevates the overall Tokyo DisneySea experience.
Ambitious Expansions At Disney Parks Worldwide
While Tokyo DisneySea receives its grand Fantasy Springs addition, Disney’s Imagineering teams are not slowing their ambitious expansion efforts at parks across the globe. In the United States, work rapidly progresses at Walt Disney World in Florida on several highly-anticipated additions.
In the Magic Kingdom, thrill enthusiasts eagerly awaited the debut of the TRON Lightcycle Run, an entire roller coaster experience inspired by the sci-fi TRON film franchise modeled after a similar attraction at Shanghai Disneyland. Just across the way in EPCOT, the World Celebration neighborhood opened in 2023 with new lush gardens, an arena for live events, and art exhibits providing fresh spaces for guests to relax and immerse in Disney’s spirit of optimism.
Over on the West Coast, Disneyland in California is in the midst of one of the most significant overhauls in the park’s history as part of DisneyForward – a multi-year, multi-billion dollar plan to reimagine large portions of the original Disneyland resort. Key projects include redesigning the park’s main entrance area, reimagining the Downtown Disney shopping district, and transforming the Pacific Wharf area into an entirely new lush exploration-themed port-of-call. Disney enthusiasts have plenty of new experiences to look forward to at Disney’s parks worldwide.
