I was invited to create content with Maid Nagi of Arcane Maid Cafe at this special pop-up shop that is going on for a limited time in Little Tokyo! Japanese sweets and snacks are a staple in the Japanese community as well as Asian communities around the world. Once you are done reading this article I know you will be rushing over to O-kashi Sweets to sample all of the goodies!

We took many photos and videos to show everyone how special this limited pop-up is. With treats all from Japan, they are now available to purchase at Japanese and Asian markets around the United States. The pop-up was created for people to sample the food before purchasing, giving them a chance to eat them before they go grocery shopping at their local Japanese market such as Mitsuwa, Nijiya, Tokyo Central and many others.

O-Kashi had a lot of classic snacks featured like the savory Amanoya Himemaru Senbei (Japanese Rice Crackers). These were one of my favorites. It’s so addicting, I could eat them all day.

They also showcased a whole line of Hello Kitty marshmallows from the company Eiwa Confectionery. I immediately thought this would be a perfect gift for any Sanrio fan!

The pop-up also featured very traditional sweets from Japan like Dorayaki which is a pancake with sweet red bean inside from the company Marukyo.

I loved how the pop-up had the famous anime character Doraemon whose favorite snack are dorayaki pancakes. It’s one thing Doraemon can’t go without and who can blame him? Dorayaki are widely thought of as one of the best sweets from Japan.

Maid Nagi is holding the sweets catalog which features all of the goodies you can sample in the pop up. I also love the very cute Anime mascots that are used to promote O-kashi Sweets.

In conclusion, I had a lot of fun eating all the delicious treats at O-kashi Sweets Japan. It is a welcome addition to Little Tokyo and I hope they will continue to have pop-ups like these highlighting different foods. It gives the community a chance to get acquainted with foods they did not know existed, never got to try, or just want to try again. You can also pair these sweets and snacks with a coffee or boba drink at the many shops in and around the plaza. To get all of these free samples all you have do is fill out a very simple survey. What are you waiting for? Go check out O-kashi Sweets today in the heart of Little Tokyo before it’s too late!
