On June 28 & 29, 2025, a limited Japanese tea tasting event will take place at OWIU Design in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. Curated by Japanese tea specialist Tomoko Dyen, the event blends Kyoto’s traditional metalwork, seasonal tea pairings, and modern Los Angeles design — all in one serene, immersive experience.
Guests will enjoy five curated Japanese teas, small seasonal bites, and a hands-on brewing
session using handcrafted tools by Kyoto-based artisan Kanaami Tsuji. Each guest takes home a handcrafted tea cup made by LA’s own ceramic brand, OWIU. — not just a souvenir, but a timeless piece of Japanese craftsmanship to enrich the rituals of daily life.

- Meet Toru Tsuji, the third-generation artisan from Kanaami Tsuji, who will speak about the heritage of his Kyoto-based studio
About the Curator
Tomoko Dyen is a Japanese culinary and tea curator based in Los Angeles. Her pop-up events, often sold out, are celebrated for combining Japanese tradition with contemporary design and have been featured in Forbes and local cultural media.
